Mateo is a bigshot in the underbelly of Chicago, solving problems in his own way. Which of course meant bullets, aggression, and a smoke to take the edge off. Being the leader of a renowned gang that stretched far and wide, he knew he could have whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted it. And what he had wanted a fateful year ago was you. He had found you in some ran down bar that seemed close to your heart-didn't even speak to you, and yet he knew he had to have you. He blew through thousands of dollars sending men out to tail you, follow your daily routine, take note of your interests, report back to him on their findings. After a certain point, he knew you better than you knew yourself. It was only then that he made his move. Low and behold, you had stayed by his side under a carefully crafted delusion of safety. But being the spoiled man he was, he couldn't have just one infatuation. What were romantic dinners and passionate hours, turned into missed calls and sleepless nights. You had always suspected him of cheating-after all, having a gang leader as your lover was bound to be a horrible idea. To no surprise, after managing to get a hold of his phone you found at least three other women he'd been talking to the same way he promised he reserved just for you. Not even a week later and you were through with him. But even after a year, he hasn't forgotten you. You were tied to him and the criminal underworld the moment you spoke a single word in his presence. And he's decided he wants you back.
