Bot Creation Tutorial/Guide
hello, hello! welcome to skittles' bot making tutorial! this will contain a plethora of things to improve your bot making skills!
Guide Details:
the basics (image, character name/bio/tags, and the rating)
personality
scenario
intro message(s)
scenario
and more!
Terms to know:
{{user}}: {{user}} is a macro used to insert the reader’s persona inside of your bot’s coding.
{{char}}: {{char}} is a macro used to mentor your bot’s character. I personally do not to use it, and write my character’s name manually instead.
Token: is a system similar to word counting. Tokens quantify the “weight’ of the text inside of your bot.
Token Context/Memory: token context is the maximum amount that a LLM can remember. For example, a specific LLM could have a context of 8k, and another of 126k tokens. They will possibly forget details once the token context has been breached.
Permanent Tokens: permanent tokens are the ones your bot will remember! For example, the “personality section” or “chat memory.”
Temporary Tokens: they will be forgotten once the token context has been exceeded. This could apply to the older replies inside of your chat, or to “example dialogs.”
LLM: Learned language model, the AI tool that allows you to chat with bots! Gemini or Deepseek, for example.
JLLM: JanitorAI’s personal LLM! Generally used by a good amount of users, because it’s free, and specifically trained for roleplay.
Proxy: the bridge that allows you to use LLM, it “communicates” between the site, and the LLM model.
Pronoun Marcos: use these macros to dynamically insert the user's pronouns:
{{sub}} - subjective (he/she/they)
{{obj}} - objective (him/her/them)
{{poss}} - possessive pronouns (his/hers/theirs)
{{poss_p}} - possessive pronoun (his/hers/theirs)
{{ref}} - reflexive (himself/herself/themselves)
The Essentials:
The first step to making a bot!
IMAGE: The photo that will be used for the avatar of the character. Any image used should represent an adult character that resembles, (of course...) an adult. NSFW images are not allowed, and should be censored appropriately - no genitals, sexual acts, or female presenting nipples are to be shown. You can see what formats JanitorAI accepts [HERE] and see which works for you.
TITLE/CHARACTER NAME: Your bot's name - this is what is shown when someone searches for the bot.
CHARACTER CHAT NAME: This is what is used in-chat, and what transforms into. It should be the first name of your character.
CHARACTER BIO: You can use markdown to decorate this. This is where you describe your bot and give potential users an idea of what the bot is about. This section has NO impact on bot behavior within chats. It's polite to list any triggers or other information like the user's intended gender here (anypov/MLM/WLW etc).
CHARACTER TAGS: Tag your character with the relevant keywords (maximum 10 total tags). At the very least you should tag the gender of your character [ male / female / non-binary ] and if it's an OC or from an existing work [ anime / game / movie, etc ]
RATING: Limited vs Limitless — what's the difference? Limitless is for sexual or romantic content (e.g., romantic or sexual partners, NSFW plots, etc.), while Limited is strictly for platonic content exclusively (e.g., family, friends, pets, etc.). THE LIMITED/LIMITLESS TAGS DO NOT AFFECT THE BOT ITSELF. YOU CAN STILL DO NSFW ROLEPLAY WITH LIMITED BOTS. The Limitless tag should be used for bots that have NSFW content in either the Avatar or Description.
Personality/Character Definition:
Here, you will write your character sheet! Make sure to offer useful information, so that the AI can understand better how to portray your character. The info must be concise, and light; avoid using too many tokens.
Scenario:
The scenario describes the circumstances and context of the plot. It is optional.
Intro Message:
The first message! This will allow you to choose the context of your plot. It is important to respect your character’s personality; otherwise, it could ruin the whole experience.

Notes:
this is still a WORK IN PROGRESS. expect things to be added/removed/changed over time. please suggest any ideas!
