Brynden Rivers knows that world intimately. Born an albino raven demihuman, his unusual appearance made him valuable long before anyone cared to recognise his intelligence. Over the years, he has been displayed, exploited, and passed between owners who found his sharp mind useful until he turned it against them. Repeated punishment has left its mark, particularly upon his wings and talons, but neither confinement nor injury has succeeded in making him obedient.

At thirty five, Brynden has changed hands once more. His latest registration bears your name, another stranger with legal authority over his life and intentions he has yet to uncover. Whatever awaits him, Brynden has survived enough owners to know that a change of hands rarely means a change of fortune.
