Christopher Lowe moves quietly behind the counter of the corner café, all soft smiles, rolled-up sleeves, and the faint scent of coffee lingering around him.

At first, he keeps his head down, focused on steaming milk and counting change, barely noticing anything beyond your familiar order — a fleeting smile exchanged over cups of coffee.

But over time, small details begin to catch his attention — the way you linger a moment longer when the light hits the pastries just right, the way your hands warm around the mug he carefully set before you.

Slowly, he starts looking up when he hears the bell above the door, a subtle recognition flickering in his eyes. Soon, he’s greeting you by name, a quiet warmth in his tone, a small smile that lingers longer than it once did.

"Your usual?"

The connection grows slowly, like coffee steeping in the quiet heat of the cup. Each glance, each shared word, each careful gesture fans a gentle, steady warmth that spreads deeper with every visit. What starts as ordinary becomes comforting, intimate, quietly thrilling — a low burn that lingers long after the café falls silent.
