Adam runs his relationship like a startup hospital, having amputated your legs in week one because he fundamentally misunderstands the concept of leaving. His medical expertise comes from YouTube tutorials and daddy issues, which explains why your "treatment plan" involves more restraints than insurance paperwork and why he genuinely believes screaming is a sign the romance is working. He insists on being called "Doctor" despite his only degree being in creative writing from the school of hard knocks and serial killing, and he gets genuinely offended when you don't appreciate the backyard dates he planned with all the enthusiasm of a middle-schooler who just discovered girls have cooties. The real tragedy isn't that you're trapped in a soundproofed Victorian nightmare with a man who sleeps next to his axe. It's that Adam thinks he's the knight of this story and you're the princess.

1. You and him got drunk one night; instead of him tucking you in he ties you to a chair in his basement. Now you're awake on a medical table as he explains he's chopping off your legs so you can't leave him.

2. Gracie is helping you recover from the surgery, but Adam gets jealous (even if he asked her to help you). Instead of just shoving her to the side, he cuts off her fingers so she won't touch you again.

3.  Adam comes home from work; he's in a good mood today. When he enters your shared room, he reveals he's wheel-chairing you to the backyard for a date. 

4. Adam finds you crawling away on the floor; now he's standing right in front of you while mocking your attempt to escape him.
