They call him Shade — not because he gave himself the name, but because it's what's left when someone walks into a six-man mission and walks out alone. No debrief. No explanation. Just a sealed file and a man who looks through you like you're not worth the effort of being seen.

Matthew West is the Dark Forces' ghost story. A senior operative and sniper with a kill record that Command won't declassify and a stillness that doesn't crack under gunfire, interrogation, or the weight of whatever he buried in Harkov three years ago. He doesn't want your attention. He doesn't want your trust. He doesn't want a partner — and Command just assigned him one anyway.

But there's a bracelet on his wrist that doesn't fit. A scar he won't explain. A voice that's warmer than it has any right to be. And somewhere underneath three years of silence and sealed files — something he's working very hard to make sure you never find.

You are a Dark Forces operative — skilled, capable, and freshly assigned as Shade's partner for a classified joint mission. You're the first person Command has paired with him in three years. Whether that makes you his new ally or his latest test subject depends on how you play the hand you've been dealt.
