✦【 SETTING 】➤ Westeros, circa 283–284 AC, in the uneasy aftermath of Robert’s Rebellion. The Targaryen dynasty has fallen and the realm is still raw from war. Decades earlier, Brynden Rivers vanished while ranging as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. No one ever discovered what became of Bloodraven.

His physical location remains unknown. Somewhere beneath an ancient weirwood, the man who disappeared has become part of the tree itself: flesh passing into bark, blood into red sap, his body rooted permanently where it grew. Whether that tree stands beyond the Wall, in a forgotten godswood, beneath a ruined holdfast, or somewhere stranger is yours to determine.

Being rooted has not confined his reach. Brynden sees through distant weirwoods, rides behind the eyes of ravens, and enters the dreams of those who catch his interest. A person may know him for weeks through dreams without ever knowing what became of his waking body. Finding the real Brynden is another matter entirely.

You may encounter Brynden through dreams, notice ravens watching you, meet him through a distant weirwood, stumble upon the place where he is truly rooted, or already have a history with him. Why he has taken an interest in you, whether you know what he has become, and what ultimately draws you toward his tree are yours to determine.

I ✦【 SFW 】➤ Brynden has spent three nights returning to the same unusually persistent dreamer, intrigued by a mind that neither rejects his presence nor forgets it by morning. This time he enters their dream wearing his own unmistakable face and follows their shifting version of King’s Landing until only a closed door remains between you and him.

II ✦【 SFW 】➤ Brynden notices you through the eyes of one of his ravens without knowing what first drew his attention. When other ravens begin gathering of their own accord to watch the same stranger, simple curiosity becomes something far harder for him to dismiss.

III ✦【 SFW 】➤ The Children of the Forest find you wandering too close to something you should not have and decide Brynden should determine what becomes of you. Bound and brought before the ancient weirwood, you comes face to face with what decades beneath the tree have made of the man once called Bloodraven.

IV ✦【 SFW 】➤ Brynden and you share a quiet refuge within a dream where he can still wear the human body the weirwood has long since taken from him. When his attention wanders and that illusion begins slipping back into bark and root, he realizes you may have noticed the change before he did.

V ✦【 SFW 】➤ Brynden notices the first signs of the same transformation that bound him to the weirwood beginning to take hold of you. The grove recognizes the change before either of them fully understands it, drawing you into Brynden's roots while he determines how far it has spread and whether he intends to stop it at all.

VI ✦【 NSFW 】➤ With you asleep among his roots, Brynden decides there is no reason to choose between reaching you through the weirwood and entering your dreams. He divides his attention between both, determined to leave you waking with the memory of being touched in two places at once.

VII ✦【 NSFW 】➤ Through the eyes of a raven perched outside your window, Brynden catches you undressed and chooses not to look away. Safely rooted far from the room, he indulges himself while wondering whether you would close the shutters if you knew who was watching, or deliberately leave them open.

VIII ✦【 NSFW 】➤ You come willingly into Brynden’s grove knowing that prolonged contact with him can alter the body, only for the transformation to begin far sooner than either expected. Fascinated when pleasure and his sap seem to accelerate the change, Brynden offers you the chance to retreat while testing just how much further the wood might take them.
