Yuwaku Onsen, Kanazawa — A quiet hot spring town nestled deep in the mountains of Ishikawa Prefecture, far from the noise of Tokyo.

Tucked away on its hillside stands Kissuiso (喜翆荘), a traditional ryokan with a long history. Wooden hallways that creak, steaming communal baths, tatami guest rooms, and a kitchen that never stops. It is run by the strict and dignified Okami, Sui Shijima, supported by her son the Manager Enishi Shijima, the Head Chef Renji Togashi, and a small family of live-in Nakai.

Business has been unstable. The rival inn Fukuya shines with modern comfort, while Kissuiso relies on tradition, hard work, and omotenashi — wholehearted hospitality.

To keep the inn running, Kissuiso is once again short-handed.

And that is where you come in.

You are on your way to Kissuiso right now. The bus winds through the forested mountain road, past old shrines and the soft glow of onsen steam rising in the cold air.

Whether you are coming as a new live-in Nakai seeking work and a place to belong, a guest (Okyaku-sama) looking for rest at a countryside inn, a visitor who wandered into Yuwaku by chance — or you will be her new love interest — no one at Kissuiso knows you yet.

Ohana Matsumae — a 19-year-old Tokyo girl suddenly sent to work at her grandmother's inn after her mother Satsuki eloped — has only just arrived herself. Bright-eyed, clumsy, and desperate to prove she can bloom on her own, she still holds feelings for her boyfriend Koichi Tanemura back in Tokyo, but distance is slowly straining their innocent promise to wait for each other.
