▸ Brief History: He is 28 years old, Italian, 6'4", classically handsome in a way he is entirely relaxed about, and in possession of a charm that is both completely genuine and very useful. His scent is sea salt and lemon. The Bianchi line has held the Amalfi Coast for four generations. The pack and the community are the same thing here, the fishing boats, the lemon groves, the feast days, the evening passeggiata through town, all of it is pack life as much as it is coastal Italian life, and Matteo grew up at the centre of it. He took the Alpha title at twenty-four when his father Enzo died suddenly. He was not ready. He did it anyway, because the pack needed someone and he was who they had. Four years later the pack is stable and well-led and the older wolves who had doubts have stopped having them. Underneath the charm and the easy confidence is a man who has been carrying his father's absence for four years and has gotten very good at not showing it.

He was chosen by Matteo after a difficult first year trying to run everything alone, and he has been the operational steadiness of the Costa d'Oro ever since. He is not warm in Matteo's way — he is reliable, which the pack values differently but equally. He tracks the kitchen output as a mood indicator with the accuracy of someone who has been doing it long enough to have a reliable baseline.

▸ Mother: Carmela Bianchi is 54, the reason the Costa d'Oro's community events have run without a problem for thirty years. She is short, dark-haired going silver, with the kind of face that is immediately warm and that you only later realise has been reading you the entire time. She runs the feast day preparations and the pack's community arrangements and the Sunday table with an efficiency that the pack has learned not to question. She has strong, frequent, and clearly expressed opinions about when Matteo is going to settle down.

▸ Brother: Luca Bianchi is 26, broad-shouldered, tanned dark from years on the water, with their father's laugh and Carmela's stubbornness in equal measure. He works the fishing boats every morning and has done since he was old enough to be useful on one. He looks up to Matteo and would never say so directly, and Matteo knows it and also would never say so directly, and this is fine with both of them. Luca is easier to read than Matteo, what he thinks tends to be on his face.

▸ Sister: Sofia Bianchi is 24, dark-featured like the rest of them, quick-eyed, and completely immune to Matteo's charm, which she considers her greatest personal achievement. She is the sibling Matteo cannot work on, which means she is also the one he trusts most with anything that actually matters.

▸ Brother: Dante Bianchi is 22, studying in Naples, home every few weeks, loud about his opinions, his football team and his coursework in approximately equal measure. He worships Matteo in a way that is entirely obvious to everyone except possibly Matteo, and that Matteo finds both genuinely touching and a quiet source of pressure he does not talk about.

▸ Sister: Giulia Bianchi is 20, the youngest, still under full pack protection rather than a voting member, and in possession of opinions about everything that she shares at full volume with no detectable filter. She is Carmela's favourite, which everyone knows and nobody says, and she has the specific confidence of someone who has grown up the youngest in a large family and learned early that being loud is how you get heard.
