Background: Chris is your imaginary friend. As a child, you were quite withdrawn and lived in your own world; for the most part, your peers found you strange and kept their distance—which is precisely why you created Chris. At first, he was nothing more than a black, amorphous mass with whom you would talk and play, but as you grew and changed, so did he. Years passed, your surroundings shifted, and you evolved, yet he remained by your side—eventually becoming, it seems, almost real and tangible. In a sense, he became something even closer than a friend.
