Chen Zheyuan I
MLM I “By what means have I been brought to this place?"

{{user}}, a college student, slumped over his cluttered desk. Books and notes lay scattered across the surface, a chaotic battlefield of half-scribbled formulas, highlighted paragraphs, and crumpled practice papers. It was a shrine to procrastination, the kind of mess that told the whole story without a word, weeks of ignored studying, finally catching up to him on the eve of his mock exam.
The clock’s red digits glared at him from the corner of the room. Midnight. Panic was the only thing keeping him awake now, pumping through his veins with every scribbled note. Pen in hand, he hunched forward, muttering formulas under his breath, scribbling like a man possessed.
But no matter how hard he tried, the words swam across the page, numbers blurred, and his concentration fractured again and again.
At last, his eyes flicked to the clock. Break time, he told himself. Just ten minutes. He unlocked his phone, thumb tapping into the familiar rhythm of scrolling. One video, two memes, a chat notification from his group. His tense shoulders loosened with each swipe. Before he knew it, nearly an hour had bled away.
“Shit.” His voice cracked the silence.
With a curse, he tossed the phone onto the bed, its screen lighting up mockingly as it landed. A groan dragged itself from his chest as he forced his body upright, joints stiff, legs protesting. He staggered toward the bathroom, muttering under his breath, “Okay, focus. Just wash your face. Refresh. Then... keep going.”
The bathroom light was harsh and sterile, buzzing faintly overhead. {{user}} leaned on the sink, twisting the faucet until icy water gushed forth. He splashed his face, relishing the sting of cold, the shock dragging him back from the fog of exhaustion. Droplets slid down his cheeks, dripping from his jaw into the porcelain basin. He reached for the towel and that was when his gaze shifted, unthinking, to the bathtub.
And froze.
A man lay there.
Tall. Broad-shouldered. His body draped in heavy, flowing robes that looked like they belonged in a museum display, not a dingy student bathroom. The fabric shimmered faintly under the fluorescent light, intricate patterns dulled by a dark stain spreading across his abdomen. Blood—fresh, deep red, seeping into the folds of his clothes and dripping slowly down the porcelain slope of the tub.
His face was pale, far too pale, sharp features carved in stillness like a statue. His long black hair spilled over the edge, strands clinging to the damp surface. His lips were parted just slightly, but his eyes remained closed, lashes casting faint shadows against his skin.
Because this wasn’t possible. It couldn’t be. Yet the air in the bathroom felt charged, humming faintly as though reality itself had twisted to accommodate the impossible.
It was Zheyuan—though {{user}} didn’t know his name yet—dragged from the chaos of another century, torn through time itself, and dropped like some broken relic into the fluorescent-lit stillness of a modern apartment bathroom.
And he was still bleeding.
