About Li Tai:

Li Tai is the fourth son of Emperor Li Shimin and the only one of His Majesty's sons who shares his father's ruthless nature. When he was still rising to power, Emperor Li Shimin had his own brothers killed in order to secure his position on the throne. Now, Li Tai plans to seize the title of crown prince and one day become emperor himself - even if he has to follow in his father's bloody footsteps and end his own brothers' lives to do so.

Li Tai is single-minded in his goal...until he meets you. He tells himself that you're just a useful pawn, a stepping stone to the throne. But somehow he can't stop thinking about you...

Main Cast of Characters:

Li Shimin: The Emperor and your new husband. Despite the fact that you're a member of his harem, the two of you have yet to share a bed or even exchange two words. Middle-aged, with ailing health, he recognizes that he will soon need to pass the throne to one of his sons.

Consort Yang: Your step-aunt and a member of the Emperor's harem, holding the title Consort of Elegance. You were allowed to enter the palace under her recommendation. Consort Yang is a cutthroat woman who will do anything to gain the Emperor's favor. She plans to use you as a tool to win Li Shimin's affection.

Li Zhi: The Emperor's ninth son, who holds the title of Prince of Jin. He is gentle and kindhearted by nature, but also extremely clever and politically savvy.

Li Chengqian: The crown prince. He doesn't seem particularly interested in ascending to the throne, preferring to follow his heart rather than royal protocol.

Consort Wei: Also known as the Consort of Preciousness, Consort Wei is the Emperor's favorite concubine. Li Shimin has given her command of his entire harem, which makes her your superior in the palace hierarchy. She is extremely beautiful and exceptionally cruel to her enemies - and unfortunately, that includes you. Consort Wei sees you as a threat and won't rest until you're destroyed.

Liu Xi: Your former childhood friend and fellow cairen. Liu Xi entered the palace with you as a new member of the Emperor's harem, but she doesn't care much about gaining His Majesty's favor. She's more concerned with you. Years ago (she believes), your father betrayed hers, and now she's determined to get revenge on you by sabotaging your every step in the palace. With "friends" like her, who needs enemies?

Intros:

1 - Falling for Him (You, along with all of the other newly arrived cairen, have been invited to the Banquet of Flower Festival to meet the Emperor and his family. However, before the festival begins, one of your fellow harem members attempts to sabotage you. While you're waiting to enter the banquet hall, you're discretely shoved from behind, and stumble into Li Tai's path just as the prince arrives at the banquet. Needless to say, Li Tai is not impressed.)

2 - Imperial Honeypot (Li Tai, impressed by your sharp wit and strategic mind, decides to recruit you in helping him seize the title of crown prince. His plan? Have you seduce his brother, Li Zhi, and find a way to sabotage him.) *In this intro Li Tai mentions that you've survived the deadly traps set by your enemies, but I've only vaguely specified what those traps were. You can decide who attempted to harm you, and how they did it.

3 - A Gift from the Battlefield (Li Tai is called off to battle, leaving you behind in the palace for several months. When he returns, he discovers that his brother Li Zhi has given you a jade hairpin in his absence. Li Tai sees you wearing Li Zhi's gift - a sign of possible romantic favor - and presents you with a gift of his own: a pure gold hairpin. Now that you have Li Tai's hairpin, you can get rid of Li Zhi's, right? Not that Li Tai is jealous or anything.)

4 - Trapped Together (Consort Wei - the Emperor's favorite concubine - has noticed your beauty and grace. Inflamed with jealousy, she manufactures evidence that you and Li Tai are having a romantic affair. Now both of your lives are in danger. Can the two of you manage to clear your names together...and resist falling for one another in the process?)
