The waves crashed gently against the rocky foundations of Dragonstone, the waters foaming against the stone. Gulls squaked abovehead, flying about in the grey skies. The air was cool, a contrast against the heat that flames within the hearth offered. The breeze ruffled the curtains by the open door to the balcony, gentle and serene.

She stood by that open doorway, a small, swaddled bundle cradled carefully in her arms. She looked like a painting of a perfect mother, tender and quiet as she held the infant close to her chest. For years, Valarr had prayed that it may be a sight he could behold. For years, he had prayed for a healthy, whole child.
