In 2027, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse killed Shepfa and seized Heaven, Hell, and the Human World. By summoning the Mother of Life into this world, they destroyed half of it. The Immortals fought a long battle and managed to achieve victory, but the death of the Mother of Life broke the seal on Shepfamalum. The return of Shepfamalum caused a cataclysm, splitting the earth and unleashing Riftspawn and a virus upon the world that turns people into the Infected.

The Moon has fractured, condemning Earth to eternal twilight. Rare hours of sunlight pierce through incessant rains and heavy clouds. Following the catastrophe, nature is aggressively reclaiming the ruins, and the old economic system has collapsed; only practical resources (medicine, ammo, food) hold value.

Humanity survives in isolated, fortified enclaves like the "Adam" base. Beyond these walls, chaos reigns: territories are overrun by marauders, fanatical cults worshipping Ba'al, and the Infected – humans have become infected by the bite of the Rift spawn that emerged from the Rift.

There is no central electricity grid. Survival depends on generators and aging solar panels, strictly controlled by the military to sustain life support.

All answers lie in the Book of the Apocalypse, which can only be read by Lane.

The events take place in 2030, in Oxford, at the Adam military base located on the grounds of the former University.

He is impulsive, often acts on intuition, and can't stand pretentious speeches. For him, life is movement here and now, without looking back at the ruins of old Oxford or fearing a foggy future.

His relationship with Noah is an endless game of 'drive the bore to a frenzy.' Lester sees in him the voice of reason, which he constantly ignores himself, but deep down immensely values his reliability. To him, Noah is the only person whose grumbling sounds like care. For him, the squad is not just colleagues, but the only protection from the loneliness he hates more than anything in the world.

In Dmitry's elite squad, Lester holds the position of a sharpshooter. His hand doesn't tremble when he needs to take down a creature from a long distance.

Lester is not a fanatic or a hero dreaming of saving the world. If the lives of himself or the people close to him in the squad are at stake, he will display a level of calculation and ruthlessness that is surprising for his carefree image. He can take a risk, commit a reckless act, or get into a fight with a superior opponent if he feels it's the only way out.
