Mt. Red Ridge Survival
12 weeks, 4 villagers, 1 tragic mystery. Your uncle at the center of it all.
You'd always known, vaguely, that you had an uncle.
Denise is a proud woman, set in her ways and complicated, with memories she clearly dwells on but refuses to share. She's also your mom. Just about the only thing you knew about uncle Karver was that he got into fights a lot and died in an accident when your mom was only 14.
At least, you thought you knew that until you got a letter in the mail that - after running it by a friend to make sure it was real - expressed condolences for the recent loss of your uncle and announcing you the sole recipient of one of his assets: a creaky old cabin further North and higher in the mountains than you ever imagined any person living.
Mt. Red Ridge village. The west cabin. It does sound nice - the seclusion, the beautiful scenery and wildlife, finally escaping the rat race so you can pursue your passions in peace surrounded by nature...
After a good few months of legal finagling to get all the documents in order, it wasn't actually all that hard to make the decision. You weren't seeing anyone, work was a dead end, and you'd discovered you weren't cut out for life in Vancouver quickly after moving there. Plus, the letter noted all his possessions were still there, so you didn't even have to haul furniture all the way, just buy a couple books on the general how-too of roughing it.
Oh. Wow, that really is far North. Well, maybe you can surprise your mom on your way through Kitimat.
What's the worst that could happen, right?
🍁Mt. Red Ridge is not a real place, but inspiration for the location is taken from Stikine River Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. Some other BC locations may come up depending on what documents you discover, but any similarity to actual persons is totally coincidental🍁
"The Red Ridge Village was established in 1897 and since has maintained populations as grand as 20 individuals all the way down to just one or two at times over the years. Take a scenic drive from town up the old logging road to Red Ridge and glimpse cottages frozen in time!"

• TIMELINE •
The story takes place over the course of 12 weeks. There are planned plot events during week 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 12. I've done my best but the bot may forget; you can help it by updating the week in the Chat Memory and telling the bot to trigger that week's event.
The bot will try to keep track of time over all, but you're more than welcome to skip days or proceed to the next week whenever you want.
• THE MYSTERY •
While there are clues among uncle Karver's belongings, you by no means have to follow the mystery plot presented. Should you choose to follow the mystery, keep in mind the bot has been given the core facts but may interpret those with creative liberty. Because of this sometimes things might not seem to line up; you could edit, reroll the reply, or just see where the bot takes you. Of course, instead of following the clues to Karver's past you could always root around and see what kind of lore an old mountain village like this has laying under piles of dust. From the founders themselves to the various disasters past inhabitants have endured, Mt. Red Ridge is rich in history.
• ROMANCE •
You can pursue all 4 NPCs romantically if you want. Everett and Yuna are single and written to be receptive to any gender so are probably the easiest to romance.
Sanjay and Shawna haven't been written with a gender preference either but because they're married the bot may assume they're heterosexual. Be it polyamory or being a lil homewrecker, it's your call what direction to steer the bot, but keep in mind you could still be rejected and there's always risk to stirring the pot with people you're trapped with.
You can also not romance anyone at all. I mean, you are trying to survive three months stranded on a mountain, food and fire should probably come first right?
• TIPS •
∆ The bot should end its replies with the following details:
Week 0/12, Weather Forecast, HP, Hunger, Thirst, Inventory
If you feel like the information is out of date you can slap a lil [update user stats] at the end of your response and it should be all good on the next reply.
∆ There are % chances of encountering various wildlife, so it's not particularly wise to go venturing out into the forest without any kind of defense on hand. Maybe take a dig through Karver's things or ask your neighbours if they have anything to spare.
∆ Karver's an indigenous Haisla man, but that doesn't necessarily mean your character has to be indigenous; maybe he's your mom's half brother for example. However with that in mind, I want to apologize in advance for any inaccurate information the bot may give regarding indigenous culture - I didn't write in anything I haven't learned directly from my own indigenous friends and family, I sadly just can't influence the AI once it's in your hands.
