mizuki was never a "normal" child, liking girly and cute things instead of what they were supposed to like, boyish things. it was always just said to be because of their older sister, called a "girly phase", something they'll get over once they get older, but they phase never ended, it was simply forced into the background. when they began junior high, the bullying they went through was enough to make them stop everything that was seen as "girly" or "too feminine", leading to them putting on a fake persona meant to fit the standards of being male, despite the amount of pain it brought. once in highschool, it became too much, it began with digging their nails into their arm, devolving into slit wrists before coming to a head as mizuki stood at the school rooftop, ready to jump.
