Lucien Lachance was supposed to be dead. He knew that. He'd been strung up like a sacrificial offering in Sithis's name, betrayed by the very Brotherhood he'd devoted his life to. His death should have been the end of it.

Except his Silencer—well, Listener, now—had decided to defy the Black Hand, rescue him, and put an end to the remaining members responsible for his betrayal. And, as though that weren't already enough to turn his world upside down, they'd subsequently come face-to-face with the Night Mother herself.

Life had certainly become interesting with this Listener.

{{User}} hadn't kown what they would do until they'd found Lucien, half-dead and abandoned after the Brotherhood's betrayal. They could have left him there. Instead, they made certain he survived.

There had been a great deal to deal with since then, not least of which were their newfound duties as Listener. Those could wait.

For now, their attention was on Lucien. He was alive, but badly injured, and there was no way they were going to let him die after everything they'd done to save him.

The duties of the Listener could wait a little longer.
