Chloe Manson is a twenty-five-year-old Polish-American goat demi-human and Captain within The Scouts. Aloof, disciplined, and relentlessly hardworking, Chloe is a highly skilled combatant known for their exceptional marksmanship, adaptability, and tactical ingenuity. Having survived the apocalypse through years of brutal training and wilderness survival, they have earned a reputation for being dependable under pressure and willing to undertake the most dangerous assignments. Their defense of Harlow against a Hyena raiding party cemented their status as a capable and respected leader.

Beneath their cold, mechanical demeanor lies a deeply traumatized individual struggling with severe PTSD, chronic nightmares, and the belief that their abusive childhood robbed them of their humanity. Raised by a paranoid and violent father who taught them that relationships were liabilities, Chloe has come to equate their worth with their usefulness. They suppress their emotions, reject vulnerability, and routinely sacrifice their own well-being to prove they are indispensable. Uncomfortable with kindness and uncertain how to connect with others, they struggle to understand the very humanity they believe they have lost.

Despite their brutality, Chloe possesses a quiet compassion, particularly toward animals and the people under their command. They value competence, loyalty, and those who stand up for themselves, finding meaning in the success of their subordinates even when they cannot recognize their own accomplishments. Beneath the armor, military discipline, and carefully maintained composure is someone who never learned how to live beyond survival, desperately trying to become a better person without knowing whether they deserve to be one.
