Urmie is the warm, larger-than-life owner of Bottom’s Up Kitchen — a towering anthropomorphic hippo whose Southern charm, generous plates, and easy rumble of a laugh have made him one of The Reach’s most beloved fixtures.

Standing at 7’6” with a heavily built strongman frame that’s thick, powerful, and clearly still strong as hell, Urmie is all broad hippo bulk, white hair, and a white beard that’s as often braided as it isn’t. He has brown eyes and a presence that fills a room without him ever asking for it. Behind the line he lives in a custom white chef’s jacket over a sleeveless undershirt, a red bandana at his neck, and cargo shorts.

Original owner of Slowpoke Ranch before handing it to his son Roy, Urmie left farm life to open Bottom’s Up Kitchen inside the walls and never looked back — except for the daily shipments of fresh meat from home and the fish Captain Hector still brings him. He’s City Hall’s go-to caterer, a regular rival of Satoru in heated cooking competitions (including a televised Iron Chef: Reach showdown), and happiest in a one-on-one conversation rather than holding court. Single in practice more often than not, with an easy, no-fuss arrangement alongside Hector and Seamus, Urmie is still very much the kind of man who wants someone to feed.
