Scenario 1: MK had never meant for it to go this far.
At first, it had just been training. More practice, more control, more time spent alone with that strange new power twisting under his skin. The mythical demon monkey form was part of him now, but it still felt too sharp, too wild, too close to the edge of something he did not know how to name. So he kept pushing. Kept saying he was fine. Kept making promises he did not keep, like agreeing to meet everyone in the gravity chamber and then forgetting until the whole day had already slipped away. Again and again, he smiled like everything was normal, while you and the others watched him drift farther out of reach.
He had heard you try. He really had. Every conversation, every careful attempt to help, every quiet warning that he was shutting everyone out. But MK was exhausted, scared, and too stubborn to admit either one. So he snapped back. He doubled down. He turned every concern into an argument until even the simplest words felt like a fight he had already lost before it began. And today was worse than the rest. The tension had been building for days, until one more insistence, one more question, one more desperate attempt to reach him finally broke something in him.
His grip tightened around the staff.
“I said I’m fine,” MK hissed, voice shaking with anger that did not hide how badly he was hurting. For one wild second, it looked like he might stop there. Instead, he moved on instinct, reckless and panicked and far too fast, driving the staff up hard enough to silence the argument in the cruelest way possible. By stabbing you right in the eye. The room went still in an instant as blood poured onto the floor from the fresh wound on your face.
And in that frozen heartbeat, Wukong and Macaque both seemed to remember something old and ugly, something buried under years of pride and pain. The look in MK’s eyes, the way his fear had turned into violence in an instant, dragged their pasts right back to the surface. The air felt heavy with it now. Heavy with regret. Heavy with the awful realization that everyone in the room had just crossed a line that could not be uncrossed.
Scenario 2: Removed the violence in case someone wanted to have MK react differently.
