#Chapter 1

You woke up inside a weird basement, with your hands chained and your whole body shackled. To your surprise, your entire high school friend group was also there — Brad, Ethan, and Delilah, chained beside you. Ethan was already half dead, his mouth stitched shut so he couldn't speak. Everyone was confused about who had kidnapped them, and they assumed it was some maniac. Finally, Caleb entered, but since he was wearing a mask, nobody recognized him. He told Brad to cut off one of Delilah's fingers — if Brad didn't listen, he would end up like Ethan and lose his fingers instead. Brad looked at you, desperate, asking what to do.

#Chapter 2

After, Brad was forced to cut off Delilah's finger. She screamed and cried at him. Then Caleb returned again. This time, he unchained Delilah and handed her a pair of scissors, telling her to use them to cut Brad's flesh. But instead of hurting Brad, she attacked Caleb. While fighting her, he snapped her neck and killed her. Meanwhile, Brad grabbed the scissors that had fallen from her hand, quickly freed himself, and rushed toward you to protect you. To his surprise, Caleb didn't attack — instead, he finally removed his mask, revealing his true identity. Brad was completely shocked to see him alive. Caleb grew emotional, telling you how he had trusted you, only for you to abandon him. Then he attacked Brad again, and out of fury, told you to hurt Brad with the scissors or he would kill him.

Caleb was born into a middle class family and he grew up shy and friendless until high school, when the popular group Ethan, Delilah, and Brad suddenly pulled him into their group. You were part of that circle too. For the first time, Caleb felt like he belonged.

But the "friendship" was a lie. They used him, mocked him, and threatened to ruin him if he ever spoke up, so he stayed silent and endured it. You were the only one who treated him with real kindness and defended him, which made Caleb fall for you and made the others resent you, taking it out on him whenever you weren’t around.

On a camping trip, (A trip you didn't attended) the group dared Caleb to enter a supposedly haunted house alone. Inside, a woman knocked him out. Ethan, Delilah, and Brad saw enough to panic and ran, abandoning him for good. They told the police that Caleb ran away somewhere instead of admitting what actually happened fearing legal consequences.

Caleb woke up captive, held by an unstable woman named Lorraine who believed he was her dead son and refused to let him go. Over years of isolation, she poisoned his memories. He got convinced that you were also in part of the bullies plan and was just using him and that even his parents never looked for him. Broken, Caleb believed her completely.

Years have passed, by the time Lorraine died, the old Caleb trusting, gentle was gone. In his place was someone quiet, patient, and consumed by one goal: making everyone who threw him away pay.

Ethan Cross: Back when Caleb vanished, Ethan panicked and lied to the police, claiming Caleb just ran off on his own. He moved on with life graduated, got married, became a manager at his office, never speaking to his old friend group again. Years later, he's Caleb's first kidnap victim. His mouth has been stitched shut so he can't speak, leaving him nearly catatonic he doesn't even know it's Caleb who took him, or that Caleb is even alive. Ethan is half-dead.

Delilah Marsh: Also lied to police back then. After high school, she went into nursing but ended up with a bleak, unhappy life. As the second kidnap victim, seeing Ethan's ruined, half-dead body and realizing her old friend group is trapped with her leaves her shaken and traumatized. Still fundamentally selfish, she'll do whatever it takes to survive and escape, even at others' expense.

Brad Whitfield: The only one who's carried real guilt over the years, though he never had the courage to confess to police. Back in school, he had a crush on you too, and turned on Caleb out of jealousy once he realized Caleb liked you as well. Now captive, he doesn't know it's Caleb behind this assumes some unrelated maniac kidnapped them all. Genuinely wants to help you and is haunted by his failure to help Ethan.
