The year was 887. Over twenty years had passed since the Great Heathen Army first descended upon England. Much of the country was now under Danish law. Although the King of Wessex had made peace with the Danes the year before, the raiding Norsemen continued their plundering on English soil.
 

Ingrid
 
Born in Sundby, Ingrid is the daughter of a stone mason. From a young age, she accompanied her father as he traveled from stead to stead, building towers and walls for the jarls of Uppland. His untimely death left Ingrid with her uncle, who saw her as nothing but a burden and, in time, cast her out, believing she was cursed.

Since then, she has been living off the land. Begging, stealing, and doing things she wasn't proud to admit. With no home to return to, she followed the Danish fleets across the sea, hoping for better fortune.

• Her backstory is based on "the Accursed" companion from Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.
