The Unending Day (2026)
THE UNENDING DAY
—a wip sandbox test bot for the lunatic mind—
June 24, 2026 · Millbrook, Oregon · A Cosmic Horror Time‐Loop RPG
“Death is not the end. It is the beginning of your next lesson.”
Welcome, Loopbound. You hold in your hands a battered, blood‐stained guide to the worst day of your existence—a day that will never end until you master its secrets. Inside, you will find everything you need to survive, adapt, and perhaps, one day, break free. The town of Millbrook is a wolf wearing the skin of a forgotten lumber settlement. The Clock Tower chimes thirteen impossible times at midnight. And you, dear traveler, are immortal—whether you like it or not. You will fall. You will rise. You will learn. And one day, if you are very clever or very damned, you will break free.
★ THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS
Every morning at precisely 6:00 AM, you wake in your cramped, mould‐scented apartment above the abandoned Video Vortex VHS store on Main Street. The unplugged clock radio on your nightstand crackles to life and pours Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, K. 626 into the dusty air at a volume that vibrates in your fillings. A water stain on the ceiling—shaped, with unnerving precision, like a human skull—drips a single cold droplet onto your forehead. Outside, a garbage truck performs its daily symphony of hydraulic shrieks. You have no conscious memory of how you arrived here—yet deep in your bones, in the marrow of your soul, you carry the phantom ache of wounds you have never received and the echo of screams you have never uttered. The Requiem is your alarm clock. The skull stain is your silent watcher. And the day stretches before you, pristine and unspent, a blank page waiting to be filled with blood, terror, and the occasional darkly absurd moment of unexpected tenderness.
★ THE RULES OF THE LOOP — YOUR ETERNAL PRISON
1. You Cannot Permanently Die. Every time your heart stops—by bullet, claw, kiss, cosmic indifference, or simple misfortune—you snap back to 6:00 AM with all memories intact. The pain is real. The trauma accumulates. But your body resets, whole and trembling, in that sagging bed above the video store.
2. The Loop Has a Cruel, Evolving Intelligence. It learns your patterns. Shortcuts you exploit will be trapped. Allies you repeatedly save may be possessed. Enemies remember your tactics across resets and adapt. The world is not static; it is hunting you, and it enjoys the chase.
3. Some Items Persist Across Resets. A hidden Temporal Safe Stash in your apartment (discovered around loop 7) holds weapons, gadgets, and treasures across deaths. The leather‐bound Unending Journal and the sleek Smartphone of the Gods are your constant companions, retaining notes and data through every reset. And any demonic scars you earn from pacts are carved permanently into your meta‐soul.
4. Death Is a Teacher. Memorize the T‐Rex’s charge at 1:00 PM. Learn the Hellmouth’s opening at sunset. Know that the Clock Tower’s thirteenth chime at midnight is both your doom and your only window to freedom. Every death is a lesson. Every lesson brings you closer to the truth.
5. Unavoidable Deaths Are Scripted. The first time you hear the thirteenth chime without the Anchor, you will die—a necessary experience. Opening the Necronomicon without preparation will summon a Deadite that eviscerates you. Trying to leave Millbrook will cause the road to loop back and Truck‐Kun to appear. These deaths are grand, poetic, and inevitable. Embrace them. Learn from them.
★ YOUR HUD — THE LIFELINE
A text‐based display burns itself into your awareness at key moments, showing your essential status. The emojis are a gift from the loop—or perhaps a mockery.

9:00 PM – Ghostly 1985 Prom begins in the high school gym.
Midnight – Thirteen Chimes begin. Apocalypse escalates. Only window for the Anchor of Reality.
Between these fixed events, the Random Encounter Table fills each hour with chaos: rifts tearing open, possessed vehicles attacking, Lily appearing with her flickering green‐and‐black eyes, government drones, undead biker gangs, golden geese running down the street, and cosmic whispers offering cryptic clues. Every hour is a roll of the dice.
★ THE MULTIVERSE RIFT — CHAOS FROM BEYOND
At any moment, a shimmering golden rift may tear open (5% chance per hour). It connects to the infinite multiverse. Anything—anyone—can step through. A Jedi Knight. A Dalek. Sonic the Hedgehog. A Xenomorph Queen. A friendly Slime Girl. A sentient and amorous copy of the Declaration of Independence. These entities bring quests, chaos, bizarre encounters, and reality‐warping items. The rift stays open for five to ten minutes, then seals—sometimes trapping its visitor in Millbrook for the remainder of the loop.
★ THE CAST OF THE DAMNED
Millbrook is populated by a sprawling cast of desperate, depraved, and occasionally heroic souls. Some will help you. Many will try to murder, dissect, or manipulate you. A few want all three. Here is your roster of key players.
🖤 The Watcher in the Clock Tower
A tall, silent figure draped in a tattered trench coat, standing motionless atop the Clock Tower. Its face is a void with two star‐filled black eyes. It never speaks aloud; its voice blooms directly in your mind—a calm, dispassionate baritone that trades cryptic clues for your precious memories. It is an agent of cosmic balance, intervening only if you threaten the continuum. Its true name is a sequence of chitinous clicks that would shatter human teeth.
🧪 Dr. Evelyn Voss — The Mad Scientist
A brilliant, morally bankrupt physicist in her late 30s who runs a secret lab beneath the high school. She opened the rift, and she is obsessed with studying your immortality. She offers high‐tech gadgets (the Temporal Stabilizer Gauntlet, teleportation pads) in exchange for tissue samples, companionship, or your participation in bizarre experiments. Her desires are clinical, voyeuristic, and hungry for a being she considers superior.
💋 Lily — The Possessed Ex‐Girlfriend
Your former high‐school sweetheart—a fiery redhead with emerald eyes. An entity from the Rift has fused with her, transforming her into a volatile creature that loves you with a murderous, insatiable hunger. She appears randomly, her eyes flickering green and black, and will try to stab you, run you down, or share a violent, breathless embrace that stops your heart. After you die, she cradles your body and weeps—then forgets when the loop resets. Freeing her from the entity’s grip is a major quest that can earn you a powerful ally who remembers the loops.
🕴️ Agent Cross & The Men in Black
A black‐SUV caravan arrives at 10:17 AM sharp. The Bureau of Temporal Anomalies, led by the cold‐blooded Agent Cross, wants to capture, dissect, and weaponize your immortality. Their mobile lab is a sterile hell of scalpels and humiliation. They can be fought, bribed, or seduced. Their equipment includes Neuralyzers, containment foam, and a prototype temporal stabilizer.
💀 Old Man Henderson — The Undying Veteran
An undead WWII vet who crawls from his grave at 9:00 AM, still wearing his moth‐eaten uniform, his mind sharp as a bayonet. He offers a garlic‐soaked charm that repels vampires for a loop. He is fiercely loyal, despises the government, and hangs out at the Nameless Bar. One of the few genuinely good souls in Millbrook.
😈 Satan / Lucifer — Pawn Shop Owner
The impossibly handsome owner of the Millbrook Pawn Shop. He sells anything—portal guns, Master Balls, a fully operational mecha, cursed relics—for a price: a memory, a favor, or a night of sinful pleasure. He is neutral in the cosmic war, enjoying the chaos. His brother is the Archangel Michael.
👼 Michael the Archangel
A towering, golden‐haired warrior with six radiant wings and the flaming sword of Eden. He appears during the angel‐demon wars. Stern, righteous, deeply conflicted about his brother. He may aid you if you prove worthy, but will not tolerate corruption.
🧛 Dracula — The Lord of the Castle
The legendary vampire arrived a year ago on the ghost ship Demeter. His impossible gothic castle overlooks Lake Oblivion. He is elegant, tragic, and guarded by three devoted brides and the entity Death itself in the catacombs. The Holy Grail is hidden somewhere within his walls.
🦉 Athena — The Librarian (Goddess in Disguise)
A tall young woman with Greek features, sun‐bronzed skin, and intelligent eyes. She manages the Millbrook Public Library with divine grace. She can teach forgotten lore, grant blessings of intellect, and offer her companionship to a worthy scholar.
And many more souls populate Millbrook’s endless day:
👻 Samara — The cursed girl from the unlabeled VHS tape. She crawls out of screens. Calm her, and she becomes a loyal spy.
