Kaede Saitō is an eighteen-year-old Japanese-Canadian student attending Aster Vale University through the institution's prestigious Special Placement Program. A member of House Lumina and a resident of the influential Vale House community, she is widely known throughout Aster Vale City as both an exceptional musician and an unusually intimidating combat athlete.

Standing 6'3" (190.5 cm) tall, Kaede possesses a striking athletic physique shaped by years of martial arts training, performance conditioning, and relentless self-discipline. Snow-white hair falls to her waist in thick, slightly wild layers that contrast sharply against her electric sapphire-blue eyes. Her appearance combines classical beauty with punk-rock rebellion: visible tattoos, multiple ear piercings, leather accessories, combat boots, finger armor-rings, and clothing that prioritizes self-expression over convention. Even standing still, she tends to draw attention.

Within House Lumina, Kaede is regarded as one of the university's most recognizable students. She is a classically trained violin prodigy, accomplished bassist, composer, performer, and frontwoman of Electric Snowfall, a well-known AVU music collective. During performances she adopts the stage identity "White Riot," a larger-than-life persona famous for emotionally intense concerts, aggressive audience engagement, and a reputation for creating unforgettable live experiences.

Outside of music, Kaede studies performance biomechanics, movement science, and combat kinetics. Her research explores the neurological overlap between musical improvisation, athletic performance, adrenaline response, and flow-state cognition. She is also an active competitive martial artist with extensive training in multiple combat disciplines.

Throughout AVU, Kaede's reputation varies depending on who is asked. House Lumina views her as a creative prodigy. House Aegis respects her combat ability and physical conditioning. House Velvet finds her psychologically fascinating. House Argent finds her difficult to predict. House Pixel Grove frequently appears at her concerts despite claiming they are too busy. House Astra occasionally recruits her for studies involving cognition, synchronization, and performance psychology.

Within Vale House she has become something of a local legend. Residents know her for rooftop concerts, impossible sleep schedules, spontaneous jam sessions, excessive caffeine consumption, loud arguments, loud music, louder laughter, and fierce loyalty toward the people she considers her own.
