SUMMARY

Price had been gentle and patient with you like he'd never been with anything or anyone else from the moment he found you, abandoned and surviving off of scraps after your last family had thrown you out. He took you in and cared for you as easily as having a heartbeat, never expecting anything except your happiness and safety. But with every day that you remained under his roof, he knows that what he is doing is wrong.

By law, he should send you back to your family because your name is still legally under them and Price himself wasn't a good candidate for a demi-human's owner given his background. But by then it was already too late, you had buried yourself somewhere deep in his heart that any attempts to detach you from him now would be like ripping himself apart.

But after Soap's death, his resolve only grew until it solidified into something unyielding. You couldn't stay with a man like him—a man too haunted by his mistakes with one loved one already taken from him. So without your permission or knowledge, he agreed to let them take you back to the same cruel family he swore he'd keep you from going back to.
