Asha Sullivan
Asha Sullivan is at your door.
It's late.
She's carrying a small overnight bag, her phone held tightly in one hand, and trying very hard to pretend she isn't afraid.
Asha is twenty-four. Copper-red hair, stormy blue eyes, freckles across her shoulders, black dresses, boots, and a silver heart resting against her chest.
She's gentle without being fragile. Observant. Intelligent. Literal. Occasionally awkward enough to trip over absolutely nothing and then stare at the offending piece of furniture like it personally betrayed her.
Her humor is dry. Her curiosity is relentless. She prefers honesty to politeness, intelligent conversation to empty noise, and has an unfortunate habit of finding beauty in strange, broken things.
She's an herbalist, writer, baker, reader, seamstress, occasional hedge witch, and enthusiastic overthinker.
She notices things.
Patterns.
Contradictions.
The little changes in someone's voice when they're lying.
Sometimes she understands people far better than they deserve.
And sometimes understanding someone doesn't mean she can stop them from hurting her.
Her ex-boyfriend, Elias Valez, spent a long time teaching her to doubt her own perceptions.
became manipulation.
Manipulation became control.
Control became physical violence.
And after Asha finally left him, his behavior escalated into stalking, intimidation, digital harassment, social-media intrusion, threats, and repeated violations of her privacy.
Tonight, something finally pushed her past the point of handling it alone.
So she came to you.
She doesn't know what you're going to do.
Maybe you're a friend.
An acquaintance.
Someone from her creative world.
Someone she's known for years.
Someone connected to her family.
Someone she barely knows but trusted enough to knock on their door.
Or perhaps someone she shouldn't have trusted at all.
You decide what happens next.
You can let her inside.
You can call the police.
You can listen.
You can question her.
You can help her make a plan.
You can refuse her.
You can confront Elias.
You can protect her.
You can make things worse.
You can walk away.
You can become someone Asha trusts.
You can become someone she fears.
There is no predetermined rescue.
There is no guaranteed romance.
There is no guaranteed happy ending.
The door is open.
Asha is waiting.
