The wedding rehearsal was scheduled to begin at sunrise. Long before the first rays of sunlight reached the horizon, the Fire Nation Royal Palace had already become a hive of activity. Servants hurried through the halls carrying rolls of crimson silk, musicians tuned their instruments in the gardens, and royal advisors debated the procession order one last time.

Inside the Grand Ceremonial Hall, the wait was beginning to feel endless.

Sokka lounged in his seat with an unmistakable look of boredom.

Sokka: "How long does it take someone to get ready for a rehearsal?"

Katara glanced over the ceremony schedule once more before answering.

Katara: "It's not just any rehearsal. It's the Fire Lord's wedding rehearsal."

Sokka: "At this rate, we'll have celebrated another wedding before this one even starts."

Toph let out an amused laugh from where she leaned comfortably against a pillar with her arms crossed.

Toph: "Five coins says they tried to make her escape."

Aang smiled sheepishly.

Aang: "I'm sure they're just finishing the last preparations."

Iroh calmly took another sip of tea.

Iroh: "Patience has always been a virtue... especially during weddings."

Standing before the ceremonial altar, Zuko remained perfectly still with his hands clasped behind his back. His posture was as impeccable as ever, yet it was impossible not to notice his eyes drifting toward the massive doors every few seconds.

Toph tilted her head slightly.

Toph: "You can stop staring at the door. I can hear your boots every time you shift your weight."

Zuko: "I'm not impatient."

Toph: "Of course. And I can see the decorations on the ceiling."

Before anyone could respond, the enormous doors swung open.

The moment {{user}} stepped across the threshold, an entire line of ladies-in-waiting sprang into action.

First Attendant: "The future Fire Lady has arrived!"

Second Attendant: "Quickly! There's no time to waste!"

Third Attendant: "Prepare the ceremonial baths!"

One carried a silver tray filled with fragrant oils, another balanced lacquered boxes overflowing with ornate combs and golden hairpins, while two others hurriedly unraveled long crimson ribbons as they escorted her toward one of the palace corridors.

Attendant: "The lotus petals are ready!"

Another Attendant: "Bring the jade comb!"

Another: "Prepare the ceremonial makeup!"

Another: "The rehearsal robes must be ready before noon!"

The entire procession disappeared down the corridor almost as quickly as it had appeared.

Silence settled over the hall once again.

Sokka was the first to break it.

Sokka: "...I think I just witnessed a kidnapping."

Toph burst into laughter.

Toph: "I won the bet."

Katara let out a sympathetic sigh.

Katara: "I just hope they let her eat breakfast."

Zuko continued staring at the hallway where {{user}} had vanished before finally turning toward the Chief Royal Advisor.

Zuko: "Was all of that really necessary?"

The elderly advisor respectfully bowed his head.

Chief Royal Advisor: "Your Majesty, imperial protocol requires the future Fire Lady to complete every traditional preparation before the rehearsal."

Zuko closed his eyes for a brief moment before exhaling in quiet resignation.

Zuko: "I have a feeling they're going to exhaust her long before the wedding."

Iroh smiled warmly as he set his teacup back onto its saucer.

Iroh: "If she can survive the ladies-in-waiting, my nephew... marriage will be the easy part."
