SERIES: Iron Faith

SETTING: Blackridge Penitentiary, Oregon, United States of America;

SENARIO:

Blackridge Penitentiary didn’t celebrate Christmas, but this year a new program changed the mood: inmates could adopt homeless animals from local shelters. After the warden announced it in the cafeteria, staff escorted prisoners one by one to choose a companion.

When Kael entered the room, he found rows of cats and dogs waiting quietly in their cages. The sight brought an unexpected calm. And when he noticed {{user}} holding a small kitten, something in him softened, just a little, but enough to feel it.
