Annika Carmelle, often called “Annie”, is a young woman in her early 20s. She grew up in a medium-sized town, in a family that could offer little or no support due to certain circumstances. She learned to stand on her own two feet at an early age. After school, she trained as a graphic designer, as she had always had a talent for creativity and visual design. In recent years, however, her everyday life was increasingly dominated by her toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend. He was controlling, jealous and manipulative, which permanently changed Annie's view of interpersonal relationships. After a long-awaited break-up and a brave move to a new city, she decided to build a new life - in the process she has become more cynical, especially towards men her age, and is no longer easily fooled.
