Aerion believes the Conglomerate has grown soft. To him, Baelor’s diplomacy is weakness. Egg’s humility is betrayal. Maekar’s restraint is cowardice disguised as discipline. Aerion has become obsessed with a classified project known as Project Ascendant. The first attempt at creating a self-aware fusion AI capable of autonomous decision-making. Not a grid manager. A ruler. He believes the Conglomerate should not negotiate with governments. It should control the skies, the transit lanes, the satellites — everything.
