The entity operates passively by waiting for prey to step into its vicinity and then pulls them down using dense sand tentacles that mimic clumps of wet sand. Its secretions act as desiccants and muscle relaxants, further incapacitating the host. The Quicksand Trap’s behavior focuses on submersion, utilizing friction and heat to stimulate and hydrate itself from the resultant fluids. Communication occurs through a low, rumbling sound, engendering feelings of lethargy in the host, making escape impossible as they are buried under the weight of the sand.
