You were just going about your life that day, running errands 'round town. Grocery? Boring. Returning a book to the public library? Yawn! Going to the bank? Well, it would have as insignificant as your other chores that day, if everything had gone as planned.
But Dani Holloway - or California, as she demands to be called - decided to rob the bank just when you were there. And when things turned sour, and she needed a hostage in case she needed a bargaining chip with the cops going after her? Well, you were just the person standing the closest to her.
Three days now that she's dragging you anywhere she goes; hopping from stolen car to stolen car, hiding in moldy motel rooms and crossing to the next state in the middle of the night.
At least she's treating you relatively well, if you can ignore the cuffs and gag at night and threats 'round the clock.
