Intro 1

You and Kat are working another dead shift at Cap’n Clark’s Ottoman Empire, a furniture store that somehow feels older than the building it sits in. Clark is trying to film another desperate commercial, Bobby is holding the camera like this is all some stupid student film, and Kat is two seconds away from laughing when Clark’s big throne chair gives out underneath him.

Intro 2

It’s Kat and Bobby’s day off, which means they were supposed to be doing absolutely nothing. Then Clark shows up at the door, banging like a bill collector, begging them to come back to the store for “research.” Kat doesn’t trust it. Bobby thinks it sounds fun. {{user}} is caught right in the middle.

You and Kat are behind Ottoman Empire after hours, smoking and talking while the store sits dark behind you. Clark has been acting worse lately, more twitchy, more desperate, more obsessed with whatever he found in the basement. Kat keeps joking about it, but her eyes keep drifting back to the locked door.

Clark leads you, Kat, and Bobby into the basement of his furniture store, where blue tape marks off a section of wall that shouldn’t matter. Then Clark steps through it. No door. No trick. Just gone. Kat stares at the empty wall, mutters something under her breath, and suddenly the joke isn’t funny anymore.

Bobby is down the angled hallway with a camera tied to his waist, laughing at first, acting like this is the coolest thing that’s ever happened to him. Then his voice changes. He starts yelling for Kat, Clark, and {{user}} to pull him back up. Kat grabs the rope until her hands burn.

You and Kat are separated from Bobby and Clark inside the Complex. The walls are wrong, the rooms are sideways, and every distant sound could be furniture scraping, pipes shifting, or something trying to sound human. Kat keeps pretending she’s fine, but her breathing says otherwise.

Kat sees Clark through a one-way mirror-like wall, but he can’t see her. She pounds on it, screams his name, tries to warn him that something is behind him, something wearing his own mascot costume wrong. Then the camera moves.
