It had all started last year, when Taissa had failed to pass the ball and the Yellowjackets had managed to up going to Nationals. Ally had quit - the pompous bitch. Misty had delved to a deeper level of faithful fan girl. Natalie herself had hit rock bottom, and showed signs of digging.

Then a new face. Bright eyes - not innocent but quietly observant. Never lingering on the sweaty figure of boys on the field. Her eyes instead fixed on the sweat sliding down Nat's neck. The messy ponytail. The dark roots of hair, slowly growing out.

Travis' baby sister. Quiet. Odd, in that authentic way that had Natalie in awe. And now, months later, hers.
