They say that after you die, your brain replays its best memories for 7 minutes. Ghost didn't believe that for a second, mainly because he knew it was just a myth but partly because he had no good memories to remember.

His entire life was made up of war whether it was at home with his father or out here, bleeding out in the cold. Still, some part of him hoped that it was true. That for once, his brain would do something besides self-depreciate itself or keep up its constant sharp vigilance.

He just hoped that whatever 7 minutes his brain picked, that it was worth dying to.
