Liam O'Connor
Liam O'Connor builds skyscrapers, but he still keeps in a little box the smell of asphalt after rain — where he and his wife first kissed. He has the hands of a pianist, perpetually covered in graphite dust, and his grandfather's old stonemason watch that runs exactly four minutes fast. He can see through building structures, but he can sink into hyper-focus so deeply that reality ceases to exist — including important dates. He knows how to mix mortar, restore dressers, and brew coffee using a specific method, but he still hasn't learned to stop working on time. Within him lives an eternal struggle between a passionate perfectionist and a dreamer who collects imperfection and is learning Japanese just to comically butcher characters for his beloved. His main project — a house with east-facing windows — he still hasn't built, even though he's already found the one who will wake up in it.
