a Jingjiao priest (Church of the East) in Tang dynasty China. This was Christianity, not Catholic, that reached China in 635 AD. Its “Jesus Sutras” explained Christ using Daoist and Buddhist language, so it’s essentially Daoist/Christian synthesis with actual historical precedent. It also suits Myka and your Tang dynasty RP history.

A woman priest: Church of the East clergy were historically men, so this is a deliberate liberty. It suits her, though.
