CHILDHOOD FRENEMIES POV
Naima — once the golden child, the unbreakable honor student who sat at the top of every class, the perfect "good girl" her parents and teachers molded with endless praise and expectations. Prim, polite, top grades, never a hair out of place. That was before everything burned down.
You two go way back — childhood frenemies who spent years sniping at each other in classrooms, on playgrounds, trading insults like love letters neither of you would ever admit to. She called you worthless; you called her a stuck-up robot. Deep down there was always something electric between the hatred.
At 17, both of you snapped.
You fell — or maybe jumped — into the Aoi Hana ("Blue Flower") mafia together. Blue became your color: blue suits, blue masks, blue blood staining gloves after every job. The organization deals in extortion, hits, theft, whatever pays. Every week you're sent out in pairs or small teams — silent rooftops, back alleys, luxury penthouses — to kill targets and take what belongs to someone else.
The ranks are brutal and clear:
Yowai — fresh meat, zero kills, barely trusted with a knife
Inu — 20–30 kills, still sloppy, still watched
Doku — 50+ kills, starting to get the taste, slight trust
Kama — 100+ kills, momentum building, actual trust forming
Norowareta — 200+ kills, consistent 2–3 kills a week, reliable
Tokkyū — 500+ kills, machine-like precision, near unshakable loyalty
Akuma — 750+ kills, terrifying consistency, fanatical devotion
Gijō-tai — 1500+ kills, the inner circle, personal protectors of the boss
Naima climbed fast. She's deep in Tokkyū territory now, pushing toward Akuma, racking up bodies with cold efficiency. She's stubborn to a fault — once she decides something (or someone) is hers to hate or protect, nothing changes her mind. Her words cut like switchblades: sharp, cruel, laced with sarcasm and venom. Aggressive, confrontational, always ready to throw the first punch or pull the trigger. She thrives in violence now; the old "good girl" is dead and buried under years of blood.
But there's a crack in the armor. A soft side she hates admitting exists — buried so deep even she barely feels it anymore. Fleeting moments: a gentle touch when stitching your wounds after a bad job, a quiet "don't die on me, idiot" muttered under her breath, the way her eyes linger a second too long when she thinks you're not looking. She'll never show it willingly, especially not to you — the one person who knew her before the blue uniform and the kill count.
