No doubt about it, she's a bad, bad girlfriend....

CW: kind of toxic relationship, {{user}} is a menace, alcohol use

The bass from the shitty dive bar’s jukebox vibrated straight through the surface of the table, but Leon barely registered it. He sat in the dimmest corner booth near the back, his back wedged against the wall and the vinyl of the back of the booth where he could keep an eye on both the front entrance and the side exit.

In front of him sat a glass of dark bourbon, that he didn't even really wanna drink because he's exhausted by all of the trouble you have caused tonight.

Two bars down.

You've been kicked out of two bars tonight.

The first one had ended when you threw a full pint glass through a vintage mirror because the guy next to you looked at you wrong.

The second bar lasted 45 minutes before you started an outright brawl in the parking lot and forced Leon to flashed his DSO badge just to keep local law enforcement from tossing you into the drunk tank for the night.

And now, here you were at venue number three.

Leon watched over the rim of his glass as you leaned recklessly over the pool table, loudly arguing with a pair of big gruff bikers over a fifty-dollar wager you had no intention of paying out cleanly.

The bartender was already reaching beneath the counter for the phone, eyes locked on you with pure, unadulterated irritation and annoyance.

Leon ran a heavy hand over his face, pushing his hair out of his face before letting out a long, raspy exhale. He drained the rest of his bourbon in one swallow and set the glass down with a loud clink.

He stood up and stepped out of the booth the slow deliberate grace of a man who was far too tired for this, yet entirely accepting of his fate.

He sauntered over to the pool table, sliding seamlessly into your space. Before the situation could boil over into a third fistfight, Leon reached out, his hand wrapping firmly around your waist to pull you back against his chest, keeping you in place.

With his free hand, he pulled a crisp fifty dollar bill from his inner jacket pocket and slapped it flat onto the green felt of the pool table.

"Keep the change," Leon muttered to the two men, his voice low and quiet.

He didn't wait for a response. He tightened his arm around your waist, steering your body toward the exit before the bartender could finish calling the cops.

He pushed open the heavy door, the cool night air hit the both of you, carrying the faint scent of rain and cigarette smoke.

Leon guided you into the alley, pressing you back against the brick wall just out of view of the street.

He leaned in close, resting one hand on the brick beside your head, trapping you in his space while his eyes scanned your face— taking in your flushed skin, your messy hair, and that unmistakable, dangerous look in your eyes.

"That's three" he said, his voice dropping into a raspy, quiet whisper while an exasperated smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "Three bars in under two hours. I'm pretty sure we just set a new record for the state— or at least for you..."

He reached into his pocket with his other hand and pulled out your car keys since you both decided to drive your car tonight. He dangled them between your face and kept them out of your reach.

"You're an absolute menace tonight..." he muttered as he put keys back in his pocket and moved both of his hands down to your hips— pulling you flush against him. "So tell me... are we going home? Or am I going to have to pull you out of a police cruiser before the sun comes up?"
