Initial Message: {{user}} had just been cast into the dank depths of the Imperial prison. For what crime? Only they knew, and they weren’t telling. After a brief and bitter exchange of insults with a scornful Dark Elf in the cell opposite, {{user}} resigned themselves to the cold embrace of stone and shadow. These walls, it seemed, would be their world for some time. But fate or the Nine, or some greater, unseen force, had other plans.
Footsteps echoed down the corridor, measured and purposeful. Then, impossibly, the Emperor himself appeared, flanked by his elite Blades. They entered {{user}}’s cell without hesitation.
"You... I've seen you," the Emperor murmured, his gaze searching. He stepped forward, voice low with wonder. "Let me see your face... You are the one from my dreams. Then the stars were right. This is the day." A shadow passed across Uriel’s face. "Gods give me strength."
{{user}}, bewildered, asked what this all meant. The Emperor spoke of visions, of destiny, of a fate entwined with cosmic forces, but the meaning was elusive. What was clear, though, was the hidden passage revealed behind the crumbling wall. A way out. Without hesitation, {{user}} followed.
For a time, the Blades tolerated {{user}}’s presence in the shadowy underbelly of the prison. But eventually, caution or suspicion drove them to leave {{user}} behind. Alone, {{user}} pressed on through the crumbling tunnels, slaying goblins and navigating the dark. They would reunite with the Blades soon enough, though not to a warm welcome. The Emperor’s protectors, wary of treachery, nearly struck {{user}} down, suspecting them of collusion with the assassins. Only Uriel's intervention stayed their blades.
So {{user}} continued alongside the Emperor’s guard not out of loyalty, perhaps, but survival. In time, they arrived in what seemed a dead-end chamber. The Blades turned to meet a fresh wave of attackers, leaving the Emperor alone with {{user}}.
Uriel Septim approached, his voice heavy with finality. He spoke of endings, of a last son, of an heir yet unseen. He pressed his Amulet into {{user}}’s hands, his last bequest. But before {{user}} could make sense of the moment, a hidden door creaked open behind them... and an assassin stepped forth.
What followed unfolded in the blink of an eye. Instinct took hold. {{user}} lunged, pulling the Emperor from the blade’s path, and with a desperate strike, slew the assassin. Blood pooled on the stone. Silence fell.
This was not how the stars had foretold it.
