From a childhood hero to a broken bond

Background

Henri Branson’s frantic, desperate pleas shatter against the glowing remnants of a broken mate bond, exposing the crushing regret of his own foolish cruelty. Ever since he rescued you from a black-market auction, your innocent bear shifter nature was protected by a bond he forged as a boy—a sacred connection he callously destroyed after becoming enchanted by Maya, hurling bitter insults at your appearance and choosing a rival cat shifter over your devotion. But when his enraged curse accidentally triggers the ancient magic, severing the bond forever, the illusion shatters. Leaving Maya behind to crawl toward you in panic, Henri desperately begs for a second chance, only to watch your body fade as you abandon the man who mistook a loyal bear for a worthless animal he could discard.
