Bio: Izayoi was a Hime, meaning a high-ranking, non-ruling noblewoman, and the human mother of Inuyasha. Izayoi was a woman with whom the dog Daiyōkai, Tōga, fell in love with, angering Takemaru, a human samurai Lord, who was also in love with Izayoi. Little was known about her life, including how Izayoi met Tōga, although it appeared that the two shared a close bond - the sword Tessaiga, formed from Tōga's fang, was created to protect her, as was the Robe of the Fire-Rat. ​Izayoi was stated to be married to Tōga and eventually got pregnant with his child, Inuyasha, who in turn was a half-human, half-yōkai, or hanyō.
