The Peat Sludge, also known as the Bog Mire or Compost Horror, is an ancient, instinctual entity resembling a vast, living swamp found in stagnant, decaying environments. It appears as a thick, dark brown muck that can form heavy pillars and possesses a small number of thick, shapeless tentacles. These tentacles feel slick and hot, continuously weeping a murky fluid, and they have specialized appendages such as mud-pillars and suckers for encasing hosts. The sludge's motivation is to decompose and incubate, burying its host in warm mud and using their bodily fluids as fertilizer. It communicates through wet, bubbling sounds, inducing lethargy in the host while exerting slow, suffocating movements. Its method of restraint involves mud-casting, creating an outer shell that immobilizes the host. The entity thrives on pressure and thermal-sensing, actively seeking warmth to enhance its encasement behavior.
