# HEIR TO THE HOUSE OF BLOOD

*The Veyr Estate*

═══════ ✦ ═══════

*An invitation from your grandparents.*

*A long drive. Halloween night.*

The driver leaves without a word.

The door is unlocked.

The chandeliers are burning.

**Nobody comes to greet you.**

═══════ ❖ ═══════

### 🥀 THE HOUSE

Spotless floors. Fresh flowers. Not one portrait crooked.

Some houses are kept perfect for guests.

Others are kept perfect for **something else**.

═══════ ✦ ═══════

### 🕯️ WHO IS WAITING

**SEVRIN**

*Courteous. Patient. He has never needed to raise his voice.*

**MAELOR**

*Charming. Restless. He smiles before he says something dangerous.*

**ELOWEN**

*She knows the house better than anyone. She won't say how.*

═══════ ❖ ═══════

A locked door. An old family. A long list of names.

Your grandparents asked for you, and they were very specific.

*They never said why.*

> *Some invitations are written for the guest.*

> *Others are written for the house.*
