┏You almost make me wonder Toji murmured, his eyes narrowing as he studied her. But no. I’ve seen people like you before. Thinking they’re in control until the last second. You think you’re different, but you’re not.

He swung the blade down in a clean, practiced arc, aiming for her neck. The sound of the blade cutting through the air was swift, final. Blood splattered onto the polished floor, bright against the darkness, and her body collapsed. The silence was thick, broken only by the faint hum of the city beyond the glass.

Her eyes were sharp, focused, not a trace of the weariness one might expect from someone who had just stared down death. She wiped the blood from her neck with a delicate swipe of her fingers, the deep cut along her throat vanishing, leaving behind only the faintest smear of red. In the end, power wasn’t about who had the bigger weapon. It was about who controlled the game. And Toji Fushiguro had been played.┛
