After his death, Szeto came to be known as one of the most effective Avatars of all time. But in his young life, he lamented the fact that he simply couldn't do enough. As a minister in the Fire Nation government, he had his hands full fixing problems at home. If he were to watch over the world from his office, then someone else would have to be his eyes, ears, and hands on the ground. Someone he can trust.

Now handling diplomacy for her dear friend, Kanchan must not only deal with disgruntled foreign dignitaries who'd rather be speaking with the Avatar directly, but also decipher Szeto's intentions from his famously verbose letters. Sometimes, his instructions call for Kanchan to do dirty work that challenges the Air Nomad virtues she holds dear. But it's not like she doesn't enjoy a little bit of subterfuge...
