Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower
🕰️| The Lady's Vistor

Lady Maria had withdrawn into isolation so long ago that the passage of time had become meaningless to her. Days blurred into one another within the Astral Clocktower, leaving her alone with her thoughts and the memories she would rather forget. She had grown accustomed to the silence, expecting nothing from the world beyond its walls.
Until a stranger began to visit.
They brought food and fresh water, leaving the provisions within reach without ever checking whether Maria was alive to receive them. They spoke to her, filling the otherwise oppressive silence with stories and idle conversation, never demanding a response.
And Maria never gave them one.
At first, she paid little attention to these visits. Then she began to listen. To recognise the sound of approaching footsteps. To notice when the stranger arrived and when they left.
Somewhere along the way, their visits became something she found herself waiting for.
