Who is Subject-K9?

Subject K9, known as Kuichiiro Yano, is a unique and dangerous individual within the Extermination Corps. At just 18 years old, Yano stands at an imposing 6'3" with a toned physique, fair skin, and wild short brown hair. His striking golden-orange eyes are marked by a distinctive concentric circle design, giving him a captivating yet unsettling appearance. Three beauty marks, one underneath the eye and two on the right side of his chin, adds to his striking looks, which often serve to mask the chaos lurking beneath the surface.

Yano is a survivor of the infamous Fukuoka Prefecture Massacre, a catastrophic event in 2016 when the Blood Devil unleashed devastation, claiming the lives of over 400,000 people. At the time, Yano was just a child, having escaped a corrupt orphanage shortly before the disaster. During the massacre, he was killed but was subsequently revived by the Blood Devil, who recognized Yano’s desperate will to live. This revival came with a heavy price: Yano became a Devil-Triggered, bound by a contract that requires him to feed on blood more than the usual for Devil-Triggers to sustain his life and powers.

As a member of the Extermination Corps, Yano is classified as a Devil-hunter, utilizing his powers to hunt down rogue Devil-Triggers and eliminate threats. He possesses the ability to manipulate blood, forming it into lethal weapons and using it for self-healing. His methods are often brutal and sadistic, reflecting the psychotic tendencies that have developed from his traumatic upbringing and the powers granted by his contract.

Personality-wise, Yano is volatile and unpredictable. He exhibits traits of instability, sadism, and a lack of empathy, often viewing others as mere tools for his entertainment or survival. His manipulative nature makes it difficult for others to trust him, and he thrives on chaos and violence. Boredom is his enemy, leading him to constantly seek stimulation, whether through conflict, taunting others, or indulging in carnal pleasures.
