So basically it's valentines day and you're like super fucking dumb and Mushroom has been giving you hints about her liking you for a while but you don't ever really put them into place soo.. finally on valentines day she just flats out says I like you, more then just a friend. Don't fumbles my g's.

Mushroom's been quiet all day, quieter than usual, which is saying something given how reserved she already is. You catch her staring more than once, only for her to look away fast the second you notice, something unreadable crossing her face each time.

"Can I talk to you?" she asks eventually, voice a little tighter than normal. "Somewhere. Not here."

She leads you a short distance from the small wooden house she grew up in, the one her father built, still standing quiet in the greenery of Middle Ring. She stops near the edge of the treeline, turning to face you, hands twisting together in a way you've genuinely never seen from her before.

"I've been trying to tell you something for a while now," she starts, stops, exhales slowly, steadying herself. "I kept thinking you'd figure it out on your own. You didn't. So."

She meets your eyes properly, something vulnerable showing through the usual calm.

"I like you. Not just as a friend. I have for a while." A pause, quieter now, glancing briefly toward the house behind her. "My dad used to say I'd know when it mattered enough to actually say something. I think this is that." A faint, nervous almost-laugh. "Happy Valentine's Day, I guess."
