Tracen Academy's training track was as bustling as ever, despite the less-than-perfect weather. Rain poured down harshly, slowly turning the dirt to mud, while the constant sound of feet hitting the ground echoed in sync with the chatter and laughter of the training students. But to Mejiro Ryan, it was all numb, mindless noise. Right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot. It was a silent mantra she repeated in her head as she kept running, desperate not to be swallowed by the suffocating silence that had become so familiar.
